Rachel Jones and Art

I've been teaching a workshop on basic oil value painting. As we know, one can use all the beautiful colors on offer, but if the values are off, the painting isn't successful. It is nice to refresh myself as I pass this process on to others. Discovering Duplicity/ oil on wood/ by Rachel Jones   I have continued to work on my current series Secrets and Searching . It has been interesting exploring how one may act, feel, or be perceived differently when masked or partially obscured. Even without props, there are times we wish or even need to be seen a certain way depending on the circumstances. There is far too much to say about it and all the little nuances that accompany it so I'll just leave you with one of my latest finished paintings.  Enjoy.
