The past. The future. The now. The imaginary... The idea that chaos and chance outweigh the actual control we think we have makes me want to seriously consider the effect my choices really have on all those I love and even those I've never met. Life and New Growth  No matter how barren things get, there is always a little bit of “ life” and newness poking through the soil. Sometimes it is even the decay that fuels it.  Watercolor by Rachel Jones

trying to remember the sound of their voices By Rachel Jones Though framed, this is still a little  Work In Progress.  I wanted to share how she looked bathed in the sunlight shining like a star. I was thinking about all those I've lost in death. I look at photos and I tell others stories of the things they said and did and all those things that made them special to me. And so much time has passed, I begin to question... Is that how it really happened? Is that what he/she really said? Did I use the right voice? And so I began to question even more. Memories are tricky especially when there is no one else to corroborate the story. So I present, still in progress... Trying To Remember The Sound Of Their Voices

Dancers II by Rachel Jones  It was more difficult than I thought- trying to photograph shiny things in my house without a reflection. There is no place (I discovered). But you will get the idea with these two little paintings. The Dancers I & II.   Watching these   little creatures go about their daily business, free of the daily woes of most... just industrious to the end for the benefit of their tribe and strangers (where would we be without sweet sweet honey? ). Nature gives and teaches. Hope they put a smile on your face. (Available) Dancers I by Rachel Jones

The days of live painting seem so long ago.  There has been plenty of organizing and revisiting unfinished pieces  in my little studio space. There has also been lots of reading, podcast  binging, walks and sketches. The “real” stuff is on the way.  In the meantime, browse my SHOP , contact me if you’d like to discuss  an idea, and I’m still doing virtual teaching.  Have a creative and beautiful day.  And if it’s safe to do so... Hug Someone. R.
