Last night, our local House of Blues hosted a dinner for the Artist of the Year 2012- a project initiated by Grand Strand Arts and a host of others. Many of our paintings are decorating walls in the restaurants on the Barefoot Landing property in hopes of not only making locals and tourist alike aware of the many artists around, but also to help boost the revenue of some of us "starving" artist in this dire economy. How generous and kind. Later It Will Grow Into... from one of the lines of the torn pages. We did  live paintings in several of the participating venues. Here I am with the winner Sybil A and our collaborative piece. It was the first time in quite a while that I painted with someone. I forgot how exciting and enjoyable it can be working alongside another painter, even with our completely different styles. Sybil with her lighter content and me bringing my 'doom and gloom' (as was commented on by my other half throughout the evening). However, it worked

Working on my new 'fairy tale' inspired series for a group show in Feb which will focus on the things women do in the name of beauty, or fame, or whatever... even if it is to their detriment. Just getting started and having a little fun. Here is Sleeping Beauty in progress.
